Meteoroloji 10. Bölge Müdürlüğü
Samsun’da meteorolojik çalışmalar 01.01.1929 tarihinde Rasathane Mahallesinde Büyük Klimatoloji İstasyonu ile başlamıştır. Bu istasyon 1939 yılında Sinoptik Gözlem Merkezi olmuştur. 1940 yılında Deniz Gözlemleri ve Denizlerimize ait Hava Tahmin Yayın Merkezi görevini üstlenmiştir. 05.03.1966 tarihinde “Meteoroloji Bölge Müdürlüğü” statüsü ihdas edilmiştir.14.500 metrekare alan üzerinde bölgesel tahmin merkezi ve idari birimlerin bulunduğu ana bina, eğitim ve sosyal alan binası, lojman, ravizonde rasadı için hidrojen jeneratörü binası ve otomatik meteorolojik gözlem istasyonu yer almaktadır. Meteoroloji Müdürlüğü, öğrenci ziyaretleri açısından önemli ve işlevsel bir okul dışı öğrenme ortamıdır. Bu ziyaretler sayesinde öğrenciler, hava olaylarının nasıl ölçüldüğünü, tahminlerin hangi bilimsel veriler ve teknolojik sistemler kullanılarak yapıldığını yerinde gözlemleme fırsatı bulur. Böylece derslerde işlenen hava durumu, iklim ve atmosfer konuları soyut bilgiler olmaktan çıkarak somut ve anlaşılır hâle gelir.
Meteoroloji Müdürlüğü ziyaretleri; öğrencilerin gözlem yapma, veri toplama, analiz etme ve bilimsel süreç becerilerini geliştirmesine katkı sağlar. Aynı zamanda doğal afetler, iklim değişikliği ve erken uyarı sistemleri hakkında bilinç kazanan öğrenciler, doğa olaylarına karşı farkındalık ve önlem alma bilinci geliştirir.

Ziyaret Notları
Ziyaret öncesi randevu alınmalıdır ve ziyaretçi sayısı konusunda bilgi verilmelidir. Ziyaretlerimiz ücretsizdir. Ziyaretlerimiz hava balonunun uçurulmasına bağlı olarak saat 14.00'te gerçekleşmektedir. Ziyaret sırasında gruplarımıza rehberlerimiz eşlik etmekte olup, ziyaret sahasında rehberle birlikte hareket edilmelidir. Ziyaret alanlarının dışına çıkılması kesinlikle yasaktır. Etkinlikler sırasında kullanılan malzemelerin izinsiz alınması ve kullanılması yasaktır. Kurum ziyareti sırasında yeme içme yapılmamaktadır. Ziyaretçilerimiz bu ihtiyacını kurum dışında yer alan ücretli kafe ve restoran alanlarından giderebilirler.
